First Bookshelf of the Library

I did promise you guys some pictures of my library once it was together and though it will probably be a while before it's complete here is the biggest portion!
The two walls on either side of it will get the floor to ceiling bookshelf treatment too (this is the same bookcase in all pictures). I'm going to have to get a step-stool soon since I can't reach the top shelf lol. More pictures soon!

  14. I'm still so excited about these! Thanks everyone for the great comments :)

Cat: My husband made everything himself. Well, he had his aunt stain and seal the wood but he did everything.

Great 3 year anniversary present huh?

  15. By the way, my husband says I am not allowed to visit your blog anymore. Heh.

My father-in-law is amazing with woodwork (he's made most of our furniture) and this might be the best spring/summer project for him I just have to clear out one of my spare rooms. *drooling already*

  25. Seven shelves high. Love them. I am also looking at walls for more bookcases in my house. My friend just got a Kindle but there is just something so comforting about a wall of volumes, each holding so much potential.
