New Dews!

A fellow blogger recently wrote about the new Mt. Dews that have come out and while grocery shopping yesterday I managed to pick up the new Revolution. It’s “Dew infused with wild berry fruit flavor and ginseng”. I promise it’s not as nasty as it sounds! Kind of like carbonated Kool-Aid. Interesting flavor and it leaves a good aftertaste. It also smells good! Not sure if it should be a permanent fixture in the Dew repertoire (and believe me I drink a lot of Mt. Dew and Mt. Dew Code Red). Oh yeah that’s the marketing behind this newest venture: “1 of 3 new Mountain Dew flavors created by Dew Drinkers. Only 1 flavor will remain... which will it be? Try all 3 and have your say online, visit DewMocracy.com

Now I just need to try the others!

Stop the Cancelling!

After finally getting all caught up with Moonlight (which I can’t believe the stupid TV people have cancelled!), I was having a serious Jason Dohring craving so for the past few days I’ve been staying up re-watching all three seasons of Veronica Mars, another wonderful show that was cancelled for stupid reasons. Enough with cancelling my shows already! I mean I wouldn’t mind as much if they would at least replace them with something good but everything that’s coming up this year sounds like it sucks.

At least it gives me time to catch up on my reading! I finished Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury today. It was really good, if a little long-winded in some places. Looking forward to seeing how well it translated to screen when I watch the Disney adaptation for the first time this weekend. Well Rose Cottage by Mary Stewart is due back to the library tomorrow so I need to get busy!

There's a new post on my other blog too

I'm Back/ Prince Caspian

As you guys have probably noticed, I’ve been absent from the internet for about a week (you should see my email inbox!) but unless something happens I think I’m back!

I need to work on some new posts and read some books too, especially since I just bought two new ones today: Fire and Ice by Anne Stuart and From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris. Darren and I also went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian today. It was such a good movie! A little different from the book but not by much and the graphics were awesome.

I had an idea yesterday since I don’t really do the Ten on Tuesday anymore, I’d like to do a Tuesday Spotlight where I talk about some posts from my favorite blogs that I visit daily. If someone would like to take this idea and run with it, I’m game.

Isn’t this a beautiful song? It was at the end of Prince Caspian:

BTT-Manual Labor

As you can tell I haven't done any of these weekly challenges in quite awhile and I'm not promising I'll be able to continue doing them either but here's today:

Writing guides, grammar books, punctuation how-tos . . . do you read them? Not read them? How many writing books, grammar books, dictionaries–if any–do you have in your library?

I’ve read a few different writing guides online just to see what they consider the “proper” way to write a review but I left the grammar books behind after I was through with school. I do have a dictionary but I rarely use it since http://dictionary.reference.com/ has a thesaurus and an encyclopedia as well as the dictionary.

My reviews are meant to be informative but also entertaining. Hence the pictures and videos, which in turn help me remember more about the book several years down the road. It’s like my brain can only store information so long and then starts dumping certain things, mainly what a certain book is about and whether I liked it or not.

*I’m a Weekly Geek! If you have read and reviewed any of the books I have posts on over at my other blog The Movieholic & Bibliophile, I would love for you to link to yours in the comments section. No matter how old!

Look What I Got!

What is it about getting books in the mail? I've recently won a few contests but I have to say Literary Feline's gift was my favorite this week! I just love the card and I can't wait to start this book. Thanks again! Those stamps are awesome!
