The Bobby of Greyfriars Bobby

I'm talking about Greyfriars Bobby again today over on my other blog! Isn't the photo above wonderful? Here is the original caption:Having put his paw print on the dotted line, Bobby, a skye terrier from the north of Scotland, is signed to a Hollywood contract by Walt Disney. The latest in a long line of animal actors Disney has groomed for stardom, the shaggy pooch will have the title role on Greyfriars Bobby, a dog whose devotion to his master earns him immortality.

Now I'm not sure if it's the same Bobby from the film or not but if it is then this little dog was bought by the Chief Constable of Edinburgh whom he gave to a children's home. He lived a little longer than the original Bobby- almost 18 years in fact.

Musing Monday- Wishlist

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about early reading…

Do you keep a book wishlist, either on paper, Amazon/etc, or via a book database site (Shelfari, GoodReads, LibraryThing)? If yes, do you share this list with others (especially coming up to Christmas)?

I sortof have a book wishlist. One is on Amazon that doesn't really get updated very often. For the most part my wishlist stays in my head (which I usually forget when I need it lol) but I do have a scratchpad on my desktop I occasionally write down things I want. There are also several Amazon.com pages bookmarked on my computer...

Since my birthday and Christmas are coming up fast I may just have to go update that Amazon list!

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your opinion in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks.

Teaser Tuesday- The Sweet Scent of Blood

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

THE SWEET SCENT OF BLOOD BY SUZANNE MCLEOD
Over the last few years, the vampires had crawled out of their coffins (not that I’d ever known one to actually sleep in a coffin) and brushed the dirt from their public image. They’d poured new blood into British Tourism and transformed the more presentable among themselves into A-list celebrities.

Featured Songs?

So how does everyone like the Featured Songs links at the end of my movie review post? Now in my opinion, a "featured song" is anything that is in the movie itself (not the credits)- usually performed by a character- so I know Ordinary Miracle is cutting it a bit close but it's one of the best parts of the movie in my opinion.

I hope you like them as much as I do since I plan on adding them to all my movie reviews from now on. I also may go back through and put it on older reviews....

RIP Patrick Swayze

Heard some sad news this morning though everyone was expecting it, Patrick Swayze died last night of cancer.Like a good majority of females I had a huge crush on Swayze after I saw Ghost and Dirty Dancing. Actually, (after Tom Petty) he was my second crush. An amazingly good actor and singer he will certainly be missed. I plan on watching one of his movies some time today.

Bunny Time!

So who is your favorite rabbit? Bugs Bunny, Thumper, Br'er Rabbit, Bunnicula, Peter Cottontail, Peter Rabbit, Winnie the Pooh's Rabbit, The Velveteen Rabbit, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland? Another completely different bunny? Who (or would that be what? Ugh, semantics)?

Personally, I like them all though Thumper, Babs from Tiny Toons, and Disney's White Rabbit may be my favorites. Runny-babbits are so cute! Never understood Anya's fear of them on Buffy. I owned a couple as pets over the years but my favorite was Bobo. That bunny honestly didn't think of itself as one. It slept inside (until it chewed up the bathroom, then dad built her a hutch), would nibble on the back of your leg until you gave it a piece of bacon during breakfast, and she would even somewhat walk on a leash. Wish I had pictures of her with me but they're all with my mom.

Now Babs would like a little respect:
