Heard some sad news this morning though everyone was expecting it, Patrick Swayze died last night of cancer.Like a good majority of females I had a huge crush on Swayze after I saw Ghost and Dirty Dancing. Actually, (after Tom Petty) he was my second crush. An amazingly good actor and singer he will certainly be missed. I plan on watching one of his movies some time today.

So sad, it really is. I feel for his family. I was an 80's girl who grew up wanting to be Baby and dance with Patrick Swayze. It kinda makes me feel old.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. Remember his skit on SNL with Chris Farley at the Chippendales tryouts? Classic!

Oh wow - I hadn't heard this yet....
ReplyDelete( You've been splashed Jen!)
This is sad news. It shouldn't have come as a surprise, but I was still shocked to see it on the news this morning. I bet hubby and I will be watching Dirty Dancing a lot this coming week.

Diary of an Eccentric
I was saddened too. I watched GHOST when I was a young girl and remembered liking it very much. Patrick, RIP...
ReplyDeleteVivienne: I was born in the late 80s so most of those movies I experienced second hand but once I found Dirty Dancing I wore out my VHS tape. He'll be missed.
ReplyDeleteLezlie: Don't think I've seen that, I'll have to go check it out. Thank you!
Luanne: Bit of a shock for me this morning. Thank you for the award!
Anna: I plan on making my hubby watch it with me too.
Alice Teh: Besides Dirty Dancing, Ghost was one of my most favorite movies growing up. Wish I had a DVD copy of it since my old VHS has just about had it.
This is a terrible loss, for his wife-first, then for his extended family and friends, then for Hollywood. He was a great actor and now cancer took his life. Well, life is short and the unexpected does happen!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so sad? He was a great actor. I just recently watched the North & South mini-series, actually!
ReplyDeleteAlways happy to see you update your blog. :)
Dirty Dancing is one of my all-time favorite movies. Maybe I should try re-watching it again this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi LadyTink!
ReplyDeletePatrick Swayze was my heart throb when I was young, anyone who could move the way he could, omg, fantastic.
Very sad for his lost, much too soon.
Dottie :)
I was really saddened by the news too. :-( And then I learned that Mary Travers from Peter, Paul and Mary died this week as well. Two great losses.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. He was such an awesome actor, and dancer. Dirty Dancing is one of my all time favorites.
