Musing Monday- Holiday Reading

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading/blogging during the holidays…

How does your reading (or your blogging) fare in the holiday months? Do you read more or less? Do you have to actively make time to read?

During the holidays I never seem to get much reading done. This year had been pretty off for me and some months I haven't read anything at all. I have a feeling December will be like that too. However, in December of 2006 I read 17, in 2007 it was 6 and 2008 was 9 books. Hopefully I can make time to read more this year but I doubt it. :(

From now until Christmas whenever I update I'll try to include a video clip of a Christmas song I'm listening to lately:

Christmas Eve in My Home Town by Kate Smith (introduced by Bing Crosby)

  1. Hi Jen! I doubt I'd be reading a lot in these months too... I think you did very well for the last two years.

  2. December fluctuates for me too. Hopefully we both will be able to fit in some good reading time here and there.

  3. I tend to read in the evenings during the winter. But it is so dark and cold at the moment after about four pages I just want to go to sleep!! Yawn!!!

  4. Love the Kate Smith!

I have never read 17 books in a month like you did in 2006, so already I fell like a failure..lol

  5. I think December is a slow reading month for most of us, but as long as we are reading, it's all good, isn't it? :)

  6. Alice Teh: Thanks! I hope we're both wrong though :)

Wendy: It's odd that I get the December blahs since my grandmother's birthday and mine both fall in this month...

Clement of the Glen: Very true. I tend to drink a lot of heavily sugared cocoa around this time for those reasons.

Caite: Isn't she wonderful?! I couldn't find Merry American Christmas so I had to go with this one. Don't feel like a failure! I don't work so I get a lot more reading done than most people when I put my mind to it.

Melody: Couldn't have said it better myself!

  7. I'm the slowest reader in the world, and perhaps for that reason I try to actively avoid counting the amount of books I read and keep track of page numbers

  8. I don't read much during the holidays, either.

I have an award for you, by the way.
