Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about borrowed books.
Where do you keep any books borrowed from friends or the library? Do they live with your own collection, or do you keep them separate? Do you monitor them in anyway? The only books I tend to borrow are ones from the library but occasionally my mom or a friend will send something my way and until I read them they all stay on my nightstand.
Books from friends or family sometimes make it into my personal collection since I only see my family a couple of times a year but I'm pretty good at keeping up with what is mine and what isn't.

I definately keep any borrowed books away from my collection else they would be lost forever!
ReplyDeleteYou seem far more organised than me Ladytink. I love your nice neat bookshelves, I am so envious!
I try to keep borrowed books separate too. It stinks to live away from your family, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteMy borrowed books are from Booksfree(a literary version of Netflix)and since my selections come two at a time,I keep the one I'm reading with my regular TBR pile and the other on a shelf of already read books to wait it's turn.
ReplyDeleteI started keeping them separate when my kids were younger and it was crazy going through all the books to fish out the ones that belonged to the library.
ReplyDeleteI tend to keep them seperate as well.

Definitely separate!
ReplyDeleteI definitely try to keep library stuff away from the rest. If they get mixed up in the rest of my mess I have my doubts that I'll ever find them again.
ReplyDeleteIf I do borrow books, I'd keep them separately from my own. I hardly borrow, though.
ReplyDeleteClement of the Glen: Thank you! I'm so in love with my bookshelves still lol.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion: It most certainly does! I could have flew up recently but I really, really don't like planes. I'm still dreading that 6 hour car trip coming up soon though the payoff is great.
Lady T: I've been curious about that system but I haven't decided one way or another if I'm going to try it out.
Nise': I've always tended to keep my library books seperate after losing a few when I was younger.
Naida & Luanne: It's a good idea lol.
Dar: I wouldn't know what to do if my library didn't keep lists of what you checked out on your account. I keep them seperate but I sometimes forget exactly what I have out and if it's between the sofa cushions...
Alice Teh: I like to borrow from the library, not from friends so much because I hate returning the favor lol.
