Hey everyone. I'm going to be away from the computer for awhile since I have a kidney infection/stone right now. Tomorrow I get to go to the doctor to get x-rays, wish me luck!

Teaser Tuesday- Awakening

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

    THE AWAKENING BY KELLEY ARMSTRONG
Chloe Saunders, fifteen-year-old Steven Spielberg wannabe, her dreams of writing and directing Hollywood blockbusters shattered on the day she got her first period and started living the kind of life she'd once imagined putting on the screen.
That's when I started seeing ghosts.

:( Sorry!

The next review after The Winged Colt of Casa Mia I was going to do was a follow up of Noel Streatfeild's Ballet Shoes called Theater Shoes. Unfortunately I didn't take very good notes at the time and I don't really remember much of anything about the book. This was in the introduction that I copied down though so I thought I'd share:

Streafeild wrote in 1944:

Some years ago Random House published my story of Pauline, Posy, and Petrova Fossil, three English children who were brought up together as one family. That story finished with Pauline leaving for Hollywood, Petrova settling down near an aerodrome in England, and Posy off to Czechoslovakia to train for the ballet. Since the beginning of the war, innumerable children in America have kindly written to ask me how the Fossil children are getting along; particularly, since the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, I have had anxious inquiries about Posy. I have answered all these letters, but it now happens, owing to the help the Fossil sisters are at present givin to some other children, that in this story I am able to give news of them.

This book is dedicated to all you children in America who have asked kindly after the Fossil sisters. It has been very nice of you to take such an interest.

Peeping Pets and Tom

No teaser today since I haven't started a book yet. How about some pictures instead?
I couldn't get the shot I wanted where he had his paws up on the ledge looking in but here's Blazin watching me mop the spare bedroom.
A Mr. Squirrely Squirrel climbed up the brick wall outside of the living room window to peek in on the cat.

My baby girl after I got her attention away from the squirrel.

I know I promised and promised all kinds of pictures of the house and our trip to Georgia and still haven't delivered. Just want you guys to know I haven't forgotten! I've also run out of space on my memory card so expect pics soon :). Hope everyone has a great rest of the week! I'm seriously thinking about doing a poll and letting you guys pick my next read...

Fear

I reviewed The Summoning today and it reminded me of a show I used to love on MTV called Fear. Well I found it online! This was such a cool show where there were contestants that had to do dares in haunted locations. It actually had quite a following and was only cancelled due to how much it cost to produce them.

I remember it scaring the heebie jeebies out of me then (I was 13-14 when it was on air) and it still does now. It was kind of like an early Ghost Hunters but they told why that particular place is haunted. A delightful reality TV show that I sure wish would be duplicated one day. Well, I'm off to watch more now, won't you join me?

Have you ever had a ghostly encounter? Do you want one? Not sure if I could deal if I did run into something like that though I've always been a huge ghost story fan. I have a nice collection of collected ghost stories and have checked out all that every library I've been to had available since I was a kid. Do you have any favorite ghost stories or ghost story collections you could recommend me? Please?!
