Grouching About TV, Etc.

Have I mentioned lately that I hate re-runs? Well, re-runs that I've already seen anyway. What I hate even more is the fact that quite a few shows won't be back on until January and the network doesn't even bother to put up re-runs! Instead they completely replace them with holiday specials. It's about time that someone recognized that people still love the old things like How the Grinch Stole Christmas but really, did they have to steal Grey's Anatomy to do it (which reminds me, The Polar Express will be on ABC tonight)?

Anyway, sorry... I finished another book for the Four-Legged Friends Challenge and the Newbery Award Challenge last night when I read Sounder by William H. Armstrong. It's been years since I first read it and I still don't know what to think about it! I've got a few things ahead of it, but I'll write up a post soon.

As you may have noticed, I've only been watching and posting animated Disney films and that's because I wanted to watch the live-action in chronological order as well but not only are there almost a billion of them, but a lot are difficult to find. I'll continue to post about the animated works in the correct order but don't be surprised if the next thing I post over there is something about Pollyanna. Or maybe I'll start posting anything that's not animated over on the Movieholic blog? Don't know but you can better believe some posts on Christmas specials are coming up soon!

**Update**
I just had to share what I'm using as a background for my computer this year:

  1. I don't mind reruns depending on the show. I so rarely watch live TV anymore and am behind in the current shows I do watch, and so finding something to watch hasn't been an issue for me. I enjoy watching the holiday movies this time of year, but I so often forget to watch them when they are on.

  2. If the writers strike keeps up there may be even more "re-runs"...don't hit me...lol!

Love your computer background...I'm sure that makes your day cheerful every time you look at it!

  3. I guess it just gives me more time to get my reading and more posts done.

It does make me happy! I love to put up stuff like that as my background. I used to have one that had Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse walking together.

Hope you enjoyed my musings and I would love to hear what you think about them!
