Teaser Tuesday- Over Sea, Under Stone

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us at least two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

OVER SEA, UNDER STONE BY SUSAN COOPER
For half an hour they poked about in a happy dusty dream, through the junk and broken furniture and ornaments. It was like reading the story of somebody’s life, Jane thought, as she gazed at the tiny matchstick masts of the ship sailing motionless for ever in the green glass bottle. All these things had been used once, had been part of every day in the house below. Someone had slept in the bed, anxiously watched the minutes on the clock, pounced joyfully on each magazine as it arrived. But all those people were long dead, or gone away, and now the oddments of their lives were piled up here, forgotten. She found herself feeling rather sad.

  5. That's a great passage! I just checked out The Dark is Rising in audiobook format from my library but I didn't like the narrator and decided there was no way I could listen to the whole thing, so I'm going to check the book out instead. My teaser is from Tyger Tyger.

  7. That part was sad but I really liked it. Summer Ross I hope you enjoy them if you try it. The first book is a little slow so most people skip right the sequel.

Deepali: Finding a map from Arthurian times to a grail.

Nymeth: I hope the sequel goes faster than this one...
