I'm so glad I didn't have to scan this into the computer (whole lot of annoying if you ask me) since I'd already done so last year. Here's a picture of hubby and I holding an albino python like in the story Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen.
Snakes in general scare me but I've held quite a few pythons over the years and my uncle actually owned a few. Some were quite gentle like the one above, others you had to have a second person holding it too but all of them you should be wary with. The have no teeth but they can squeeze you to death. I believe that pic was taken in 2004 and although you can't see it very well both of my hands are touching the snake (she had wrapped the end of her tail around my side).

ReplyDeleteOMG... how pretty you are! You guys make a lovely couple... really, you do!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good-looking couple!! Very brave with the snake. They fascinate me, but I'm petrified of them.
ReplyDeleteLezlie
Jen, you're so pretty and what a great couple you make!
ReplyDeleteOn to the snake now----no way, no how. I'm cringing inside just looking at the pic. lol. You're one brave woman.
Eek...I'd be too scared to do that, even knowing rationally that the snake wouldn't bite.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else has said, you guys make a lovely couple :D
Thanks guys! I think I was even less scared since Darren had the head area lol
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture!
ReplyDeleteThe big local news story this week was about Clarisse, a 120 pound python that got loose. The police dept had to put out a warning to watch your small animals and children.
LOVE the picture! You two look like you both are having a great time.
ReplyDeleteUm... *shudder*
ReplyDeleteNot my choice of accessory I'll tell you. :)
Although you and your hubby look awesome, just having that snake in the picture gave me the creeps. I think I'm almost unreasonably terrified of them. Makes my skin crawl just looking at it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a snake person either but I have handled that exact (almost) snake when I did volunteer work for Tippi Hedren at Shambala Preserve in Ca. If a snake can be beautiful it's that one.
ReplyDeleteI love snakes! I did a stint in the reptile house at the zoo I worked at, and we had the most awesome boa! Actually a very friendly snake, but she let you know when she wasn't happy...squeeze! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteSoftdrink: Wow! I bet that was scary! Have they found her yet?
ReplyDeleteJ.Kaye: Thanks!
Cat: Lol.
Stephanie: I'm afraid of any snake that isn't a python. We came across a rat snake that had somehow gotten into the laudry room and I totally wigged out.
DesLily: They're definitely interesting creatures that's for sure!
Mariel: Neat! I've never been that crazy about that particular part of the zoo but I do visit it for awhile.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is a snake person. She has a picture of herself with a big boa.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I hope you don't mind but I tagged you for a photo meme. Looking forward to seeing your picture.
I hope you participate.

This is a great pic of you and your husband ... and the python! You're a braver woman than I :)
ReplyDeleteI once had the opportunity to hold a snake during a summer library program. I was much braver back then than I probably would be today. LOL That's a great photo, Jen.
ReplyDeleteomg! first off, you are a very cute couple...but secondly I am very scared of snakes!

Lovely couple both of you are!
ReplyDeleteI was born under the Chinese zodiac sign of snake. Hehee...
Oh Jen... before I forget, I have a blog award for you!
ReplyDeletePabast: Not too sure if I would be brave enough to get near a really big boa! Thanks, I will participate soon, I already have the photo pulled.
ReplyDeleteDawn: Lol, thanks!
Wendy: I know how that is. I passed up a chance to touch a baby shark that someone had caught the first time I went to see the ocean b/c I was a little freaked out lol.
Naida: Aw thanks, yeah I'm scared of "wild snakes." Even the harmless ones if that makes any sense.
Alice Teh: Thanks! I think I was born under Tiger if I'm not mistaken. Be by to check that out soon!
Yikes! I don't think I could pose any pic with a snake around me! You're really brave, Jen! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of you both! But I could do without the snake. Can't get past the slitheriness of them....squirming even thinking about it...
