Thursday Thoughts- Fictional Characters

I thought long and hard about this one. Would I want to be Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake with all her yummy guys (or her Merry Gentry for that matter) like Jean Claude, Asher, Nathaniel, etc? Or would I like to be Patricia Briggs' Mercy? How about Stephenie Meyer's Bella?

Hmm... no. If I could be any fictional character, I think I might have to go with Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse for one main reason: Eric Northman. Yes, Sookie has an interesting ability that might not be the most ideal but she is also a down-to-earth type of gal too. She's funny, pretty, and very interesting.

Now sometimes being that interesting has consequences... usually the really, really bad kind like having people (and Supes) want to kill you. On the other hand, it also means other Supes (supernatural creatures like vampires, shapeshifters, and Weres) want to protect you. Supes like Eric, Quinn, Alcide Herveaux, Sam, and I'll even grudgingly admit that Bill has pulled her out of the fire a time or two himself...

  1. Once upon a time,I would've liked to be Anita(and Jean-Claude would have been my choice of man)but the character's gotten too oversexed these days.

You pretty much have to keep one of those layout boards the cops use to map out mafia connections to keep track of all her guys(Merry, too!)

Bella's sweet but I think I'd like to be Sookie as well(Eric Northman alone is plenty of reason for that!). I haven't read Patricia Briggs, what are her books like?

  2. Oh Patricia Briggs is awesome! Her main character is a coyote skinwalker named Mercy who was raised by werewolves. I did a review of Cry Wolf, the first book in her parallel series The Alpha and the Omega yesterday. Links to the first three Mercy novels are over there.

  7. Could I have answered this on one of your other blogs or is this just another senior moment? Anyway, I would have to pick from my favorite book and that would make me Scarlett O'Hara altho I am afraid my thigh is bigger than her waist in the book...sigh! LOL
