Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading non-fiction…
Do you read non-fiction regularly? Do you read it in a different way or place than you read fiction? (question courtesy of Diane)
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your opinion in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks.
For the most part I read fiction of all kinds but occasionally I will pick up some non-fiction, mostly Disney/ animated or book related but I also enjoy a good biography too at times! I read non-fiction a little differently though, which is why it takes me forever to finish one. While I'm reading say an autobiography about, I dunno- Shirley Temple, whenever I come across a movie, song, etc. (anything I can look up in other words) I actually watch, listen, or in some cases read it. It's fun and interactive but it sure does take a long time!
Here are all my non-fiction reviews:
A Damned Serious Business by Rex Harrison
Hollywood Cartoons: American Animation in its Golden Age by Michael Barrier
The Animated Films of Don Bluth by John Cawley
Poetry for Young People: William Butler Yeats
Winnie the Pooh: A Celebration of the Silly Old Bear by Christopher Robin Finch
Dr. Seuss & Mr. Geisel by Judith & Neil Morgan
Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Lazy, and Stupid by Dr. Denis Leary
If you have any other non-fiction suggestions you think I might enjoy, please tell me!

I am trying to read more non fiction books this year. That is why I joined the Non Fiction Five challenge and the In Her Shoes Challenge this year. The subject has to be of interest to me to begin with, I am really picky about the non fiction books I read.
I don't read much non-fiction. I will if something catches my eye, but I prefer fiction. The non-fiction I usually read would be celebrity type of books.
I enjoy reading memoirs and other non-fiction ocassionaly. Sometimes it's political or social, but it has to be something I'm interested in learning more about. But fiction is my escape and my favorite.
I tend to steer away from non-fiction but do read the occasional memoir or biography.
I love historical fiction, it makes me feel like I'm learning something and getting a great story at the same time.
My first love is nonfiction and I've grown to love fiction a lot. The thing is I started with fiction when I was a little girl but somehow shifted gear when I grew older. :D
ohh...a another Disney fan!
Dennis Leary is too funny. He says things people sometimes don't want to admit.
Didn't know he had a book out, I'll have to look it up.
I read some NF. Usually memoirs.
I don't read much non-fiction. I am trying to read more and this year have read 1776 and I've read a memoir: The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid which I really enjoyed. I have several more nonfiction on my list for this year and hopefully will read them!
*sigh* I wish I've some time for non-fictions... the fictions are taking too much of my reading time, hehe.
I do enjoy reading nonfiction, but I more often gravitate towards fiction. That's why the Non-Fiction Challenge comes in handy. :-)
Scrap Girl: I thought about joining the non-fiction challenge but knew that I wouldn't be able to get done on time since it takes me so long to read them.
Yvonne: Yeah, me too.
Lisa: Anything political even if it's fiction tends to bore me. Fiction is the best though!
The Tome Traveller: Depends on the memoir but there are some out there I think sound interesting. :) That's why I love historical fiction too!
Alice Teh: I'd read whatever fiction was available at home but at the library as a kid I'd read mainly non-fiction (craft books, books about animals, etc.).
Caite: You bet!
Jenny Girl: It is crude at times but I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up!
Sharon: I'll be lucky if I even finish two!
Melody: Lol, know how that is :)
Wendy: I gravitate towards fiction too which is why that Shirley Temple Black book has been on my sidebar forever. I just haven't found time to pick it back up lol.
