“Vampires don’t talk about their weaknesses as weaknesses. They talk about the price. Their vulnerability to sunlight, wooden stakes, and crosses- it’s the price they pay for their beauty, their immortality.”
Just letting you know that I'm nominated you for an award here:

I can see that you've already been nominated for it this week - someone beat me too it! - but I still wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog and reading the comments you leave on mine :)
Oooooh me likes this teaser. What a good way to think about things.
ReplyDeleteI read this book last year. I was so excited to read a book focusing on the werewolf as opposed to the vampire because they were always my favorite monster.
ReplyDeleteI was very disappointed. I didn't like Carrie's character. I liked the bounty/monster hunter she hooks up with, but not much else.
I guess my hopes may have been too high.
Rebecca: Aw thanks!!! I enjoy visiting as often as I can!
ReplyDeleteAlice Teh: I just love how Kitty talks to her radio audience in the books.
Paxton: Lol. I didn't have any expectations. I'm more a vampires girl myself but I do like the occasional werewolf! If werewolves are your thing you should try Patricia Briggs or Kelley Armstrong.
I'm rereading The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye at the moment,so here's a juicy tidbit from where I am currently at in the book:
ReplyDelete"That Juli shared his own feeling of completeness and belonging was something he knew without having to be told;just as he knew that she was fonder of him than anyone else in the world-as she had always been. But fondness was not love and what if she felt for him was only the same single-hearted devotion that had been given him by
an adoring little girl who had trotted at his heels and thought him the wisest and best of all brothers."
For those who didn't read the book, the character in question is not related to Juli(full name Anjuli),they just had a tight bond as kids and reunited unexpectedly later in life. Didn't want to cause any confusions there:)
That's a great teaser, Jen! I had wanted to pick up this book but I don't know why I didn't. I hope it's a good one!
ReplyDeletesounds good tink! I like vamps.

Oooooh, this sounds good. I love any books that have to do with vampires. Come to think of it I haven't read one in a while but have quite a few on my shelf.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Carrie Vaughn. Love that cover though!
ReplyDeleteLady T: I've heard of that. Good quote!
ReplyDeleteMelody: Thanks. Hope you like it when you get a chance!
Naida: Love vamps too so I always hate it when they're not the central characters like here where Kitty is a werewolf.
Dar: I try to read at least one or two every month lol
J. Kaye: This was my first Carrie Vaughn
I really enjoy what I've read of this series. I need to get caught up with it!
ReplyDeleteJen, I've passed you an award! :)
